EMC, Ovens, Co. Cork
on
Tuesday March 30th starting at 6.30pm

Bob Savage,
Vice President & Managing Director of Cork, Ireland Operations
Will give a presentation on: –
"Transformation Agenda at EMC"
EMC Ireland has been in Cork since 1988. In its 22 year history the Ovens facility transitioned from a
Manufacturing site, to a multi-functional campus made up of practically every organisation in the EMC
corporation. As EMC globalised its operations, EMC Ireland worked to maintain and enhance its relevance
and value, it now hosts 24 business units housing sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, finance
and a state of the art briefing centre for customers from 85 countries. There is a staff from 36 countries,
which speak 26 different languages in the course of their daily work. Major clients include the world's
largest banks and financial services firms, many of whom are listed among Fortune 500 companies.
This year, the Ireland campus has moved to becoming a Centre of Excellence in the EMC global
structure, which means another transformation, with a new vision and mission and a re-definition of
EMC Ireland's strategic relevance and value proposition.
At our business briefing Bob Savage, EMC Vice President and EMC Ireland GM, will share this
transformation and discuss his insights.
Bob who has been with the company since it opened in Cork, was appointed as the Vice President and
Managing Director of the International Operations Campus in Cork in 2008. From joining the company in
1988 he progressed to Director of Manufacturing Engineering in 1996. His role over a ten-year period
was to lead and develop many of the technical and engineering functions on campus. In 2006 he was
appointed Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations in Cork.
This year the company was recognised by Cork Chamber together with BT as the Cork Company of the Year
comments by Bob on receiving the award: "Our success over the years is down to the commitment and
motivation of our staff, who constantly adapt and change to ensure we continue to be strategically relevant to
the evolution of EMC. This commitment also extends to the Cork community and beyond"
After the meeting, there will be a networking opportunity with light refreshments being served.
