CEIA members are cordially invited to attend our May business briefing taking place at Tyco (Sensormatic), Bishopstown, Cork on Senior Innovation Consultant, Evolve Will give a presentation on: –
Peter Robbins is one of Ireland’s foremost experts in innovation and new product and service development. Until recently, he has been the global head of innovation excellence for GlaxoSmithKline where he was responsible for creating the worldwide, new product launches for Lucozade, Aquafresh, Sensodyne, Panadol, Ribena, alli and NiQuitin. Peter was also responsible for creating a common global approach to innovation within GSK and this role involved designing and delivering significant internal training programmes with various stakeholders within the organisation, including the R&D commuity. Peter specialises in creating, incubating and implementing new business ideas for clients. In essence, Peter helps businesses grow through innovation. Most businesses will have innovation as a key priority but many need help translating the priority into a tangible, actionable, commercial innovation roadmap for their business. Peter lectures in small business (SME) programmes for the IMI; he is a part-time lecturer in Innovation in DCU and is a visiting lecturer in NUI Galway and UCD. Peter has trained in the renowned Stanford D School, he is a graduate of London’s What-if creativity programme and is currently (2010) completing a PhD on the topic of Innovation Teams For Ireland to remain competitive as a small open economy with relatively high labour costs, we need to innovate continuously and brilliantly. This talk will cover; 1) How to convert ideas into tangible business growth. 2) The 4 principal types of innovation 3) The process of Innovation . 4) How to customise your own innovation process for your organisation for hosting this event. Prior to Peter’s talk, Donal will give a brief overview of the transition and re-focus of the Tyco plant in Cork.
