Headquartered in San Jose, California, Sanmina-SCI is a leading, global EMS. It has the largest 
network of FDA-registered, ISO-compliant Medical design and manufacturing facilities in the EMS industry. Sanmina-SCI has established fully medically compliant facilities in the United States, Mexico, Europe and Asia, combining the quality and compliance of an OEM with the global presence and cost saving of an EMS provider.

Sanmina-SCI Fermoy has more than 20 years of industry experience, employing 470 people in its North Cork facility. The site opened in 1989 and since then has provided EMS support to major OEM customers within consumer electronics and telecommunications. As part of the strategic development of the site, production of medical instruments commenced in 2002. The site achieved FDA Registration and ISO 13488 Certification in 2003 (Upgraded to ISO 13485 in 2006) and is among the largest medical sites within the corporation. It provides a full value chain of services from Design, Manufacturing and Logistics to its Medical OEM customers.

 
A Cork man through and through, from Bishopstown originally, Robert began his career in Motorola, Dublin after graduating with a Business Degree from UCC in the early 90’s. Following Motorola, Robert spent a number of years working in a variety of companies across all aspects of Sales & Supply Chain, working with such organizations as Intel, 3-Com, Nokia and DHL, in various locations around the world. In 2001 Robert returned to Cork to take up the position of Logistics Director for Europe with Sensormatic, his role quickly changed when Sensormatic was acquired by Tyco in that same year. Robert worked for Tyco International for seven years in total, in a number of different roles, in many locations, most recently as Director Of Global Operations for the Fire Detection business unit, with operational responsibilities in the US, EMEA and APAC. Robert joined Sanmina-SCI in March of 2008 as Vice President and Plant Manager.

 The CEIA are honoured and indebted to Robert as he agreed not only to host the event, but also provide a presentation on the evening. His presentation is titled:  

 “Connecting for Growth” -

     managing cost & growth in a competitive environment
