Businesses today are increasingly more aware of the need to enhance their processes regarding the disposition of IT assets, comply with new data protection regulations, adhere to e-waste management best practices and embrace a more circular economy model for sustainable IT re-use.

Wisetek is one of the few companies worldwide that can uniquely offer customers a complete one stop solution to meet all these requirements. Founded on the principle of lean manufacturing, Wisetek’s culture of flexibility and operational quality, combined with a full lifecycle solution, manufacturing assembly, forward, and reverse logistics, e-waste recycling and IT asset disposition services is what distinguishes us in the market.

As a Global provider of end-to-end IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) Services and leaders in the Circular Economy, Wisetek prioritise the recovery of material, either for reuse within their client’s operations or for remarketing to our global network of buyers through, e-commerce, wholesale and Wisetekmarket.com. These reuse priorities assure clients receive optimal financial returns from their IT assets. Material no longer required is recycled to Wisetek’s Sustainable EARTH standard, which is externally certified to the R2 Responsible Recycling standard and is compliant with all global regulations.

In Jun 2019 Wisetek has agreed a strategic alliance with Dubai based recycling company Enviroserve to provide services in the Middle East. This joint partnership operation is located at the Recycling Hub, a 280,000sq ft. electronic waste processing plant in Dubai which is the world’s largest integrated electronic and specialised waste recycling facility. This will be Wisetek’s main hub for the Middle East and Africa region. The new facility joins Wisetek’s operations in Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia, Texas and California, a facility in Thailand, and its entrance to the UK market with an operation in Reading.

Sean Sheehan, Chief Executive

    will talk to us on:

“Story of Wisetek and the Circular Economy”

Sean will explain how the Circular Economy affects IT Asset Disposition and IT Sustainability. Almost 100 years’ ago, the term ‘planned obsolescence’ was coined to describe how manufacturers built products with an artificially limited useful life so that they become unfashionable or no longer functional, thus forcing the consumer to replace the item. Back then, the term was levelled at the car industry during a period when sales were falling. Nowadays, technology has ushered in a whole new era of planned obsolescence, though it’s not necessarily described as such. Sean possesses over 24 years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry, including global corporations EMC and Wang Labs. An advocate of manufacturing Lean Sigma methodologies, Sean holds a MSc in Professional Practice (Operations Management) and a Diploma in International Selling. We would like to thank Sean for the giving of his time and for hosting this business briefing in his plant. After the presentations, there will be a networking opportunity with light refreshments served.
