Are you interested doing something different with your school in terms of ICT in 2017-18?

This programme is aimed at giving both students and parents knowledge of internet safety in terms of social media Apps and their applications.

How?

We train the students, who in turn will deliver training to parents.

Aimed at 1st /2nd year students

Benefits for Students:  Presentation skills training, increase their confidence in this activity. Better understanding of what they are committing to when accepting terms and conditions. Better understanding of where/how their data is utilised.

Benefits for Schools

Industry involvement in Presentation skills training, increase their confidence in this activity.

Introduction to CEIA member companies and their products, services and job opportunities the companies offer.

Improved awareness of social media sites by students. Better understanding of what they are committing to when accepting terms and conditions. Better understanding of where/how their data is utilised.

Schools commits to facilitating student training, CEIA commits to parent association liaison to ensure knowledge is passed on.

Benefits for Parents

3 Training Workshops : 1.5 to 2 hour max

Technical  – Overview of internet security –  safe behaviour plus cookies, malware, viruses.

Technical – Social media – terms and conditions, what they mean, what data you provide, what happens with it, additional costs features.

Presentation skills – How to present technical information to a group.
